why?

Kim thoughts......Why is dieting so hard!? I think my biggest issue right now is that if someone offers me something unhealthy I can't say No!!! Why is that! I know I am addicted to junk, especially chocolate and I really need to stop! I know a little is okay, but I think I am pretty much over doing it!! My other issue is that Chris is not dieting, so what I would like to have for dinner is not what he would like to have for dinner! So instead of making 2 different things, I of course make what he would want! I think that is why I am so desperate for new recipes! Thank you for all who have donated ideas! They will come in to good use! On a good note I am doing wonderful with drinking enough water and I did get my walk in today! Yippee! Plus I will be doing a 3 mile run/walk with my mom and sister on Thanksgiving....i will be mostly walking, but at least I am doing it right!!!!

  2. I recently found a website for cooking-impaired people, such as myself. There's an easy recipe, though not a quick one, for roasted chicken and all you add to it are 2 tablespoons of seasoned salt. I'd guess it isn't too many points since it's mainly just chicken. And Chris would find it edible. It's at startcooking.com. Just go to the recipe index and go to Roasted Chicken.

  3. I know this sounds so ridiculous and crazy, like it will never work, but I know it will--- I am a full hearted believer in Intuitive Eating. There is a weight loss book called "Intuitive Eating" that we teach where I work.It teaches you how to lose weight without dieting. I truly believe there is no such thing as "good" foods and "bad" foods (aka chocolate) and that you can eat what Chris is eating and you can eat chocolate. The trick is NOT FEELING GUILTY!!!! When you feel good about what you are eating, no matter what it is, you will feel better about yourself. Better self esteem causes you stop worrying about your weight and when you stop worrying and stressing about your weight, your body will regulate itself and will return to the weight that it is supposed to be at!
Just listen to your body; eat when you are hungry and stop eating when you are full. Think about the food you are eating.

Oh there is so much I wish I could teach everyone out there trying to lose weight! I guess that is why I am going to school to be a dietitian! :)

Anyway, good luck and don't cut out your favorite foods! In fact, don't even restrict them! :)

  4. I don't know what Chris likes, but I once put frozen strawberries on chicken (I put chicken in a glass pan, cover with tin foil, bake 350 for about 20-25 minutes, depending on how thick it is). It tasted like candy! And if he doesn't like it, or there's left overs, it's really good on a salad, too.

  5. Oh dear, if I was cooking something healthy and never cooked Adam what he wanted, he would learn to eat it. When only one type of food is offered, only one type of food is eaten!
